The facility, whose installed capacity is 8 megawatts for the first year, will reach 66 megawatts in 2046 by increasing over the years, and will be the world’s largest landfill gas power generation facility established in a single area. While the facility has been storing domestic solid waste since 2015, it has been storing approximately 12 thousand tons of domestic solid waste per day since the beginning of 2018. When completed, the facility, which will have the power to meet the annual electricity needs of 342 thousand households, will prevent 277 thousand tons of CO2 emission per year. This is expected to provide an environmental benefit equivalent to the withdrawal of 228 thousand vehicles from the traffic and the planting of 7 million 100 thousand trees.
